Hiking gets you surrounded by nature, God's creation at every turn. Some trails are easier than others, and some too rough and steep to handle alone. If you trip and fall, it doesn’t mean the hike is over. It just means you’re a normal guy who tripped and fell on a hike. You just need the right adventure guide.

Hockey is a metaphor for life. The game is exhilarating and fast. Raw power behind the stick, sending the puck 100 mph. You get knocked around, you may go to the penalty box, but you keep playing. You fight, you foul, you give it your all and may only win by one point. And that is sweet victory.

Jesus is my guide and my coach. In all the struggles of life, I've learned this: Life is not meant to be lived alone. We need to surrender to Jesus as Lord as well as Savior. Men need other men to truly experience God's guidance, love and power. He will make us the men we are meant to be.
